Thanks for your site. I've just got cuttings off a bush that looks so much like Anisodontea capensis BUT it has a pale yellow flower. I can't find any reference on Google for such a thing. I've used your malvaceae.info site to help identify a number of plants in the past but this one appears to have nothing anywhere. I have seen that Anisodontea capensis can be quite variable in the leaf shape and flower colour but never outside of pink / purple range. Any pointers on where to look further?
Thanks
Max

I'm not aware of any Anisodonteas with yellow flowers.

Flower colour is not a particularly helpful character - yellow flowers occur all over Malvaceae. See here for useful characters to look at.

Apart from the usual details of flower anatomy, locality, and whether wild or cultivated, might also aid identification.

Pavonia praemorsa - Yellow Mallow

I found the plant in someone's garden. The leaf was within the variability I've seen in Anisodontea.
I found a seed pod and decided it was too different.
After looking through your site again and then googling the name, I found enough info to show that it was the above.
Thanks for your site and your help
Max

I am trying to find any hazards associated with the malvaceae family but I cannot find anything after searching for hours online. The hazards can be literally anything such as poisons and toxins, invasiveness,etc..
Thanks
